I recently stayed in the All Seasons Paris XV, which is located in the 15th Arrondisement in Paris, which is primarily a residential area. The hotel is part of the Accor group, which also owns Sofitel, Mercure, Ibis and other brands.
The hotel location is good, as it’s within easy walking distance of both Convention and Boucicaut metro stops and is also close to several bus routes.
The room rates are promoted as “all inclusive”, as the rate includes the room, breakfast and internet access.
So what does that actually get you?
The room I was in was reasonably sized and clean with an ensuite bathroom (shower). Towels provided were of a reasonable size and quality, while the complimentary shower gel was passable.
The double bed was quite comfortable, though it only came with two pillows, so if I’d been staying there with someone who liked more than one pillow I’d have been out of luck..
Problems started almost immediately with the free wifi. To say that it was “unstable” is an understatement, with it disconnecting me every few minutes at random or not being available at all.
The free breakfast is made available in a very cramped breakfast room in the hotel basement. It’s available until 10am on weekdays and based on my experiences everyone seems to be trying to get it at around the same time, so it’s not a pleasant experience at all. The only time breakfast was anything close to nice was the morning I was able to get in there shortly after it opened at 7.30 am! You’re probably better off enjoying a lie in and grabbing something from one of the local bars.. but be warned – the hotel’s cleaning staff are apt to ignore the “do not disturb” sign on your door and wake you up regardless!
Overall the hotel is “ok” and I got a reasonably good rate (below €100 / night) when I booked, which isn’t expensive for Paris. However if you’re looking for a relaxing break and some creature comforts you might be better off elsewhere.
