The Standard runs hotel properties in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. Their buildings are usually a little quirky and come with an interesting back story of some kind. But up until now they haven’t had any hotel properties in Europe. That’s changing with the opening this August of their first European hotel in London.
The Standard London will open August 1st and is using the former Camden Town Hall Annex near St Pancras. The building has been restored and overhauled and will host 266 rooms.
According to the hotel’s site the rooms will be very well appointed:
All rooms feature comfy beds, Italian sheets, fluffy down pillows, huge TVs, Bang & Olufsen bluetooth speakers, bespoke robes, custom bath amenities, access to our 24- hour gym . Overstocked minibars 24-hour room service pet-friendly free wi-fi
I’ve stayed in The Standard’s LA properties and the rooms are always nice and big.
It’ll be interesting to see how the new London property works out, but I’d definitely consider staying there for a trip to London.
