The Fairmont group of hotels are not exactly cheap, but their President’s Club offering is very attractive.
All members get free in-room broadband, which on the last stay I had with them saved me USD$20 / day on average.
Unlike other programs the Fairmont’s does not seem to work on points, but the status and advantages are tied to the number of stays / nights. You can also “double dip” and get points with several airline programs. The choice isn’t that wide, so I ended up choosing Lufthansa, as Air France wasn’t an option 🙁
